About Our Blog

Founded in 1972, Oliver Winery is Indiana’s oldest and largest winery. We are located in Bloomington, IN. We make over 35 varieties of wine from classic viniferia like Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio to fruit wines like Blackberry. We also make a line of wines called the Creekbend Collection which are made exclusively from grapes grown in our Monroe County vineyard, Creekbend. We operate a Tasting Room that is open year round for tasting and weekend tours. Our wines are available for sale in our Tasting Room, distributed in thirteen states and through our online store.

We started this blog because we thought it would be fun and a great way to keep our friends and fans updated on what happens behind the scenes at Oliver Winery.

We invite you to visit our company website for a full list of our wines, events and lots of other information about our vineyards, our wine club and to access maps, hours and driving directions. Please visit our online store while you are there.

So glad you love our wine! We are unable to ship to Kentucky at this time, due to state laws. We do sell quite of few of our wines in Kentucky. You can call our Kentucky distributor, Republic National, at 502-254-8600. They should be able to direct you to stores near Elizabethtown that carry Oliver wines.

  3. I have been purchasing Oliver wines purchased by the case, in Ft Myers Florida and A south Chicago suburb. For the first time ever I am disappointed with the new version Black Cherry, because the label was new I read the information which revealed the problem, your new and improved Black Cherry includes artificial flavor, if someone new tried this product they would not guess the flavor was Cherry. The last bottle just finished included natural Black Cherry flavor. I am disappointed to say if this your plan for your fruit wine I will be shopping for a new product.

If I am wrong and a better Oliver product is still available I would like to hear from Oliver.

    • Ken, We are so happy to hear that you are a fan of Oliver Wines and thank you for your comments about the Harvest Flavors Black Cherry. Harvest Flavors were naturally flavored, just like the Honey Wines you can currently find on the shelves. Please check the label of our current Black Cherry Honey Wine for “Naturally Flavored.” It’s true!

When we re-released our honey wines last year, our winemakers dialed back the black cherry flavor due to customer concerns about the Harvest Flavors Black Cherry being too sweet and overpowering. You’ll also notice the Black Cherry Honey Wine is the color of honey, instead of cherry colored, as we want to focus on this product’s smooth honey finish.

We’ve continued to listen to customers, and we think you will find the newest batch of Black Cherry Honey Wine has more of that all natural black cherry flavor you enjoyed, without being too sweet or too strong. When you taste it again, tell us what you think. You can email us directly at marketing@oliverwinery.com.

I have tried your new Naturally flavored honey wine and find it slightly ( 20% ) Closer to the product I have purchased previously, Black Cherry colored wine. In my opinion you have taken advice from someone who thought your sweet fruit wines were too sweet, when they should have just sought out a dryer wine.

You have ruined a great product. Please let me know when and if you return to the product previously available and I will return as a customer.
