We are thrilled to report that our 2009 Pinot Grigio took home a double gold medal and the title of Best of Varietal (Pinot Grigio) in the 34th International Eastern Wine Competition (IEWC).
The IEWC is produced by Vineyard & Winery Management magazine and is one of the oldest and largest professional wine competitions in the United States.
According to a press release from Vineyard & Winery Management, over 1,600 wines were submitted to the competition from 37 states in the United States, three Canadian provinces as well as the countries of Argentina, Australia, Chile, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa and Spain. You can view a full listing of the medals and awards here.
Entries were evaluated by an experienced group of professional wine judges. This group was made up of individuals with backgrounds in viticulture, enology, wine marketing, education, tourism and hospitality.
Pinot Grigio has always been a favorite of staff and customers at Oliver Winery. It’s hard to beat a crisp, refreshing glass after a long work week. Our Tasting Room staff are currently recommending a pairing of Pinot Grigio and Dubliner cheese. Yummy! Our HR Director is taking a bottle home tonight to enjoy on her back patio with friends. Instant party!
You can find 2009 Pinot Grigio in our Tasting Room. We sell it for $12.50/bottle. If you can’t make it to Bloomington to visit us; Indiana residents can find it at most Marsh, Kroger and Meijer stores as well as local, independent liquor stores. You can also order it online, if you happen to live in one of the 20 states that we are currently able to ship to.
